of the general articulations offered at Blankenshield and a loose price
guide. These general types represent degrees of complexity and styles of
articulation rather than examples of stock. We keep no stock. Each and every
piece of armour made at Blankenshield is created for a specific individual
using patterns made from their measurements and photographs. The creation
of these highly individualized patterns is a big part of the Blankenshield
method. We eagerly take on projects involving armour for any size and shape
of person. We also realize that an investment of this sort deserves highly
individualized attention and no one is actually going to order exactly what
is represented here. Usually photographs of antiques and concepts are exchanged
in a long series of e-mail's promptly replied to, and the individuals needs
and wants are weighed as the final design is worked out. Then drawings are
made of the final design rather like those shown here and submitted for
the customers approval. Each detail of construction and decoration is worked
out to the satisfaction of the customer before the pounding begins. The
final product must meet our basic requirements of safety, protection, and
flexibility before we will agree to make it. We make real armour for real
combat here at Blankenshield and within that set of parameters anything
is possible. In the past three decades we have made many different exotic
armours in addition to the basic historical models shown here. Minotaur
armours with horns and faces that open like toothy jaws with claws on gauntlet
and sabaton. Roman/renaissance revival armours. Polish, Turkish, and Russian/mongol
armour. Armour for women both functional combat and fantasy amazon. Even
matching wedding armour for a midget and a dwarf. Both sets the same height
